Overview


FDRAPPL is designed to backup all data sets that relate to a given application,
from whatever disk volume they reside.


Simple control cards to select critical files:

DUMP   TYPE=APPL
SELECT CATDSN=HOURLY.PAY**,CATLIMITGDG=1
SELECT CATDSN=PAYROLL.**
                  


ISPF INTERFACE

Allows end users to report on their backups and to easily do restores of files required.

DATABASE

FDRAPPL maintains a database which records all of the backup information, allowing for easy restores of the current or older backups.

PERFORMANCE

FDRAPPL is comparable to ABARS within DFSMShsm except that FDRAPPL is significantly faster and offers more flexible selection criteria.
