FDRERASE is designed to comply with current U.S. Government guidelines for erasing computer disks prior to disposal... the Department of Defense concurring that the erasure technique FDRERASE employs for Secure Erase satisfies the DOD requirements for erasure of computer hard disks prior to disposal, as specified in the ASD(C31) memo of June 4 2001.
